Team Work

To work together as a group is one daunting task. There are several factors that make this task extremely difficult. One is the clashes of ideas between teammates, another is the emotional feelings one puts on another, and the last one is to be able to communicate and coordinate well among each other. All these factors are inevitable while doing work as a team, especially when one is unwilling to compromise or to accept others. It may seemed that team work is something that is hard to achieve, however if you think about the outcome that a team can make compared to an individual, the result is spectacular. What makes a team thrive with success? The key is to be able to cast aside personal emotions while working, to be able to accept other people’s opinions and of course, to be willing to COMPROMISE.

As I reflect on the teamwork that my group mates and I have poured into the project so far, I feel that there’s a huge gap between us. Throughout the whole process of conducting the project, we constantly face problems among ourselves, problems that hindered the smooth flow of the process. When I think of what my team mates and I lack of, all I can think of is two factors. One is the poor communication among us, and the other one which I will strongly emphasis on is the lack of compromising among team members.

Compromising is one hard thing especially when a person feels superior over another. The ability to let down our prides and self-righteousness to a particular situation requires a lot of compromising. When there is compromising being done among the team, everything will go on smoothly. Likewise, if the element of compromise does not exist, then everything will surely go haywire. This can be seen throughout the whole process of the project where obstacles occur when compromising is absent.

The success of a team depends solely on the ability of the team to work together well. Therefore I would like to take this opportunity to urge all my team mates to embrace the act of compromising as it will do no harm but benefit you and everyone through the process. =)
